The Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has begun nationwide today under stricter guidelines aimed at ensuring transparency and faster result publication. According to the National Examination Board, a total of 512,421 students are appearing this year, including 441,566 regular and 70,855 grade improvement candidates. Female participation is slightly higher, with 257,613 girls, 254,801 boys, and seven others. Additionally, 23 students are appearing from Japan. The exams started at 8:00 am across 1,966 centres from 11,379 schools, with question papers distributed through Janak Education Materials Centre Limited. Under the new system, answer sheets must be evaluated within three days under CCTV surveillance. Mobile phones are banned, and examiners violating rules may face penalties. The exams began with Compulsory English and will continue until April 11. Authorities reported the examinations started peacefully nationwide.
